"Sun Mission"

there is no specific and widely recognized "Sun Mission" associated with India. However, India has been actively involved in various solar energy initiatives and projects to harness solar energy for sustainable development. One of the important solar missions in India is the "National Solar Mission" or Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). It was launched in 2010 with the aim of promoting the development and use of solar energy for power generation. The mission has set ambitious targets to increase solar capacity and reduce the cost of solar energy.

The key objectives of the National Solar Mission include.

Increasing solar capacity: The mission aims to achieve 100 GW solar power capacity by 2022. This includes 40 GW from grid-connected solar rooftops and 60 GW from large and medium scale solar projects. Reducing costs: The mission aims to reduce the cost of solar power generation through various measures such as promoting research and development, encouraging domestic production of solar equipment and facilitating adoption of solar technologies. Promoting off-grid solar applications: The mission also focuses on promoting the use of solar energy in off-grid and decentralized applications, especially in rural areas where deploying conventional power sources may be challenging.

Capacity Building. 

The Mission emphasizes on capacity building in the solar energy sector, including training programs and skill development to support the growing solar industry. It is important to note that specific initiatives and missions may have evolved, and new projects have been introduced since my last update.
